How can you not fall in love with the classic Victorian features of Allen Avenue? An 1890's classic Victorian in Portland's Deering neighborhood with two sets of oak pocket doors, three bedrooms, and two full baths. Needing a new kitchen, we put in custom cabinets to the ceiling, a Viking stove, and updated the trim. This house was a joy to renovate - preserving the period details throughout while balancing it with modern conveniences. We refinished the original hardwood floors, trim, wavy glass built-ins, pocket doors, original fireplace and mantel, and large bay windows providing air and light. Maybe just as cool is the detached two-story barn with an outdoor fireplace, private backyard, and mature perennial gardens. In-town living with a private oasis out back!
