1900 Bowdoin College Victorian - Brunswick

This iconic Victorian was built across from Bowdoin College in the 1900s and originally used as faculty housing. We restored the arched window, two pairs of French doors, lights and hardware throughout the house, eight working fireplaces with original or period-specific mantels, and refinished the hardwood floors, including the attic. Plaster and lathe walls were refurbished and restored for better soundproofing and to prevent mold. We updated the electrical wiring and plumbing throughout and installed Marvin windows for amazing light and exposure along the length of the house. The kitchen was updated with handcrafted custom kitchen cabinets, new appliances, a Viking stove, carrara marble counters, sliding barn doors for the pantry, and a kitchen island top handcrafted in Maine from one single slab of perota wood. A new roof, a large private cedar deck, and painting both the inside and outside of the house were the finishing touches.
